Ready to tackle tough problems in your neighborhood or local community in new and creative ways? Looking for a project to meet your academic program requirements? Interested in competing for a cash prize? University of Utah Health is challenging you to Team Up with other students from across campus and Reach Out to your neighborhoods and communities to address health and related challenges from new perspectives.
This challenge is an opportunity for you to identify a problem or need in your area of study, and tap into the diverse expertise of University of Utah students to develop novel solutions. Here are some examples:
Ex. 1 Physical Therapy student Teams Up with Dance student and Film Student, and they Reach Out to local dance academies to create a You Tube series that helps aspiring dancers prevent injury.
Ex. 2 Nursing Gerontology student and Communications student Team Up and Reach Out to Aging and Adult Services to host a ‘Speed-Friending’ Event Series targeted at isolated older adults.’
Ex. 3 Medical student and Education student Team Up, create presentation, and Reach Out to their hometown or other local elementary school to teach students about careers in medicine.
Projects will conclude by end of semester, and student teams will showcase their work at a SHARE FAIR on campus. All projects will be evaluated, and the top 3 will be awarded a $500 cash prize.
